Lazy with a Capital L

... What else is new? I've been so lazy to take pictures of my outfits and whatnots. I don't even know why. I think I'm just stuck in the back to school slump where I'm in denial about things I need to/should do! Le sigh, it'll catch up to me eventually.

Outfit post for today:
It was actually pretty chilly out today without a jacket! I got off school at 2:30 and I thought it'd be warmer downtown but nope. I guess fall is finally starting to kick in.
Top | Forever 21
Leggings | Charlotte Russe
Necklace | Forever 21
Watch | Michael Kors

In other news, I took a short trip down to Lynnwood this weekend and picked up a couple things. There wasn't too much to buy though and imo this area of the west coast is just really shopped out! I'm sure shopping is way better when you move down the coast and into California but a trip there isn't happening any time soon :(
Found this Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C Clutch at Nordstrom Rack for $159.97! It's missing a tassel but I can live without it. I'll probably just end up taking it off like I did with my black mini M.A.C.
I'm not sure how much this retails for in Canada, but the US tag says $295.00.

Size comparison between the mini M.A.C. (black) and the M.A.C. (white)

Also picked this up from the Seattle Premium Outlet at the Fossil Store
It was $99.99
Not sure how much this retails for in Canada either but the US retail price was $200

The rest of these purchases are from Canada!
Also got these light grey zippered skinnies from Zara. I was searching for just the right grey color and these worked out perfectly. A friend gave me a pair of harem pants from Zara but since I have a pair already I exchanged them for these.

Another thing I've been itching to buy for the closet is brown pants! I think these are great for the fall especially as an alternative to black skinnies. Can't wait to wear this with baggy sweaters and cardigans during the fall.
These are from Bluenotes and they were cheap so I figured I might as well. They were about $17.75.

Hehe don't ask me why, but I also had to buy this hat. I promise I'll wear it in the winter because it was an impulse purchase for $3.50.

That's all for today! Happy trails everyone. Enjoy the last little bits of what looks like summer until it starts to rain everyday and fall is really here.

Dinner at U and I Thai

Boyfriend and I had a LivingSocial voucher to use for U and I Thai so we decided to use it today. It was such a good deal, $15 for $30 worth but at the time I had a $10 coupon so it was $5 for $30 worth hehe. We've never been to this restaurant before but at $5 we had nothing to lose trying it.

Top | T. Babaton (also the shirt I mentioned but didn't picture in my previous post!)
Moto Jeggings | Forever 21
Bag | Balenciaga

Simple table setting

Stuffed Chicken Wings with Plum Sauce

Pad Kratiem Prig Thai with marinated chicken

Yellow Curry Chicken with Sweet Potato

Overall, a very good dinner and friendly service. I'm not a food critic so I don't have much to say but I'd come back!

Read reviews on Urbanspoon here.

Casual Lace and Pearls

Top | Zara
Shorts | Gap Kids
Bracelet | Forever 21

Hehe don't mind my reusing of the watch photo. I like the background.
The set of bracelets I'm wearing is the one I mentioned in my previous post that was part of a Canada Day order from Forever 21.

My Colour Scheme Reminds Me of Pocahontas

Romper | Forever 21
Necklack | Forever 21
Watch | Michael Kors
Bag | Balenciaga

Taupe coloured dress + a jade colour necklace reminds me of Pocahontas.. or an updated version anyway, with a watch and purse lol. Sorry I realize it's hard to see the necklace with my arm up to snap a photo!

My romper and the necklace are part of a recent order I made from Forever 21 when they had free shipping for Canada Day. I also bought a bracelet which isn't pictured and a pair of t-strap heels from ALDO, also not pictured. Will be making a post for the shoes soon hopefully!

Doing Yard Work.. Fabulously

Top | ? ( From Hong Kong)
Shorts | Dollhouse
Bracelet | Tiffany & Co.
Necklace | Forever 21

Well I wouldn't normally do yard work dressed like this.. it was spontaneous! And by yard work, I mean I swept up a lot of leaves and grass while the Boyfriend and his brother mowed the lawn. Does it count that I volunteered to use a chainsaw to cut the hedges but was denied?

His neighbours are so cute. We did some yard work for them as well since they're older and she kindly gave us $20. We declined but she insisted and said we should buy ourselves some ice cream since it was hot out. By the way, what kind of Dairy Queen doesn't have the Brownie Earthquake Blizzard?! *sad*

Outfit of the Moment(?)

Top | ? (From Hong Kong)
Shorts | Hollister
Scarf | American Apparel
Ring | Forever 21
Silver Ring | Gucci (BF's, not mine)

By outfit of the moment, I mean I left my house at 9PM for about 20 minutes to get bubble tea!

Boyfriend and I tried a bubble tea place we haven't been to before since I was craving. We went to L & G Bubble Tea on Fraser Street. I agree with reviewers, it's cheap and the quality is pretty good! They even have a daily special with pearls for only $3 in your regular tall sized bubble tea cup. I ordered strawberry mango fresh fruit slush and Boyfriend ordered green apple fresh fruit slush.  Only $7.75 for 2 fresh fruit + pearl drinks is a pretty good deal considering some places charge that much for powder based drinks! I'll definitely be back.

Oh and I took a picture with Boyfriend's ring because as I was taking a picture of my own he was asking why I was snapping photos of my hand. I said it was for my blog and then he insisted on having his own featured too haha. Loser. Perhaps I should start featuring him on here more. I think I've included his outfit once so far so maybe you guys will see more of him eventually :)

Looks Like Summer's Finally Here!

Finally! Now I'm just wondering how long Raincover will keep it up. I still remember a few years ago when it was about 30 degrees in the summer but I'll take what I can get. Not expecting any miracles! I didn't go out today so no outfit post, but I have one from yesterday!

Yesterday it rained for most of the day (where I was anyway) so this is what I wore
Top | Forever 21
Jeans | Forever 21
Scarf | Everything All We Ever Wanted
Watch | Michael Kors
Oops, didn't notice that the date on my watch was wrong until I took this photo

Aren't these miniatures awesome! They're on display at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. The display is called "In My Life, Pearl of the Orient - Honk Kong." The detail in each set is amazing and so realistic and they're all based on traditional street food stalls in Hong Kong.

Shredded Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice in Thai Style

After walking around Richmond Boyfriend and I went to Alleluia Cafe for dinner. I love eating here if I'm ever in Richmond. Mmm can't go wrong with cafe style food and it's cheap! Comes with soup of the day, a huge entre portion, and hot or cold milk or lemon tea (also in a large cup) + one free refill.They don't advertise that that they do refills but they do. Added bonus since most places don't offer them!

What Are You, A Gypsy?

Top | Mink Pink
Skirt | ? (From Hong Kong)
Denim Button Up | ? (From Hong Kong)

"What are you, a gypsy?"
- Boyfriend

Haha that's the first thing he said to me when he saw me walking to his car the other day. Apparently fish tail skirts remind him of gypsies! My skirt finally came in the mail and I love it, but I haven't had many chances to wear it since the sun hasn't been out very much. I wore this outfit the one day it managed to be sunny and grocery shopped. Let me tell you, its not easy bending down to reach for lower shelves without the back touching the floor! Even when I was at home kneeling down I would accidentally step on the back while getting back up. I guess I'm not trained to wear long skirts yet.

I haven't posted many outfits recently since I just had all my midterms. My weekly schedule for the past little while was studying everyday, not going out, followed by writing exams, going home right away, showering and back to studying. Not gonna lie, I was being a lazy bum and decided not to snap photos of my outfits.

I'll try to post the backlog of them soon! Happy Canada Day!

Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin D: The Sunshine Vitamin
It is made by the body when the skin is exposed to sun.

For all of you living in Vancouver, I'm sure you've noticed the lack of good weather lately! Little to no sun and lots of rain and/or cloud coverage. Not my cup of tea. On the bright side July is supposed to be hot!

I feel kind of weird wearing bright or light colored pants or tops when it's cloudy out. It's a nice pick me up to see but when it's ugly but you know me, I'll usually incorporate something dark somewhere somehow into the outfit haha.

These are two outfits I wore in the past week.  Light pants and dark tops.

Jeans | ASOS
Top | Forever 21
Cardigan | Carol Little

Jeans | Urban Planet
Bustier Tank |Wilfred
Blazer | Forever 21

I also picked these up from Old Navy for $8.50! Couldn't resist the pink.
The only issue I have with them is that they squeak a bit when I walk. Also I have a horrible sock tan despite the fact that I don't wear anything but flats. This will only add to my mismatched feet. Quite the first world pain haha.

Moving On Up

Yesterday my boyfriend had his convocation ceremony from college! It's been a long time since I've been to one and the last was my own from high school haha. I was kind of surprised by the number of people who didn't show up for their own graduation but whatever floats your boat. It just made the ceremony go by faster! I was disappointed the weather was so ugly though. No good opportunities to take photos with the scenery. And my flats were digging into the back of my feet. I couldn't wait to get home and take my shoes off.

They keynote speaker for his ceremony was really inspiring but unfortunately I can't remember his name! All I remember is that he just co-authored a book with John Furlong, CEO of the 2010 Winter Olympics. (ETA: His name is Gary Mason) I loved how he didn't sugar coat what the future may be like for some. That is, it's not going to be all sunshine and butterflies. There will be good times and bad times ahead. He related this to his own life post-graduation and said he couldn't find a steady job in his field of education. He received numerous rejection letters from companies he applied to but rather than throwing them away at an instant he said he kept them all in a shoebox. Why? He did so so that when he made a name for himself and was successful, all of these companies could see what they passed up on. Talk about motivation even when times are tough!

Truth be told, of course we're not all going to be famous and known around the world, but despite that sometimes you have to make the best out of the worst. You may not be where you want to be right away but things can get better with the right attitude and patience.

Oops..

So much for regularly blogging. Not sure why I became such a lazy bum but don't fret I'm still around!

As per usual school is consuming my life, even in the summer! But on the plus side that means graduation will come sooner :)

I haven't been up to much lately in terms of shopping. I've shopped online twice since returning from my trip a month ago hence the lack of content here.

Here's two things that were part of my order. I wore this outfit yesterday to a family BBQ!
(I just noticed the ant trap on the floor. Ants are invading my house since it's getting hot out! Yuck.)
Blazer | Forever 21
Floral Romper | Forever 21
Watch | Michael Kors
Side thought: I never wear rompers. I have one other one but it's ridiculously sheer so it never gets worn. Awkward question but does anyone else hate wearing rompers and having to go pee?? lol. While I love this romper the straps aren't thin enough to be slipped off easily. It actually has 2 buttons on each shoulder and every time I have to go I have to unbutton one set of straps, etc. Kind of annoying!
Anyway, the blazer and romper were so cheap so I couldn't pass them up. They were $18 and $7.

Some other things I ordered from Forever 21:
Contrast Trim Button Up $12.50

Lace Trimmed Tank $12.50

Crop Swing Tank $11.80

As for my other purchase, it's in the mail, but if you're curious it's a new purse.. starts with the letter B (but not a Birkin haha I wish). I'll do a reveal when it arrives. It was purchased from a consignment store in Toronto. Details to come soon. It's supposed to arrive May 30!

Wallet Woes

Saturday, Boyfriend and I went to Richmond Center since we were bored and needed something to do to kill time. I wasn't planning to make it a mini shopping day but I obviously have no self control...

Outfit to the mall:
Lace Tank || Wilfred
Sweater/Cardigan || Forever 21
Braided Belt || Forever 21
Leggings || Gap

... here's what I made it out of the mall with. Darn Artizia and their Snooze You Lose sales. I forced myself to look since I was in the area per say lol
Wilfred Bustier Tank $17.50 Reg. $35.00
Love this. I have a few them and they're staple pieces. I needed one for spring and that wasn't black/white/grey. Score!

Wilfred Silk Kimono Sweater/Cardigan $69.99 Reg. $165
I was originally going to get  the blue/white combination but I thought I'd get more use out of this one..

Sunday, I went down to Seattle with a few friends. I wasn't expecting to buy anything at all since there was only one thing on my mind the entire road trip down..
Guess what it is!
(hehe experimenting with page breaks!)

Midweek Blues

Another outfit post! I haven't been up to much lately besides leaving the house for school and running errands. Boring, boring, but I guess that's the life of a student.

My retail adventures currently consist of me waiting for things to arrive. I'm currently waiting on some jewelry, skin care items, and pants, all which I'll make a post about soon. The pants will probably be featured on my next post (but with stock pics since they look better anyway lol).

Tuesday's Outfit
Tank || American Eagle
Plaid Shirt || Song
Blazer || Forever 21
Jeggings || Aldo Accessories

Similar to yesterday wit
h the exception of an additional plaid shirt, different leggings/jeggings, and black flats instead. I guess since I go to school for one class a day, three days a week, I get kinda lazy deciding what to wear. Also since I'm sitting in front of a desk, no one can see what I'm wearing anyway. A lot of the times I keep my jacket on too so it probably looks like I'm always wearing the same outfit lol.

Wednesday's Outfit
Yay today was a Mail Day. The items featured on this post arrived today, minus the Lina shirt which is one of the items I was looking forward to. I guess it oversold :(

I decided to try my sweatpants and here's how I wore them to run errands today.

Tank || Fluo
Blazer || Costa Blanca
Sweatpants || Fluo

Thoughts?
W
hile I do like these sweatpants, I think they could stand to be more fitted throughout the leg. Maybe I'm just accustomed to the tightness of skinnies and leggings/jeggings but I think these could look more polished. Also the waist is a bit too big for me so I have to wear them high waisted (not that I mind) but even after tying the drawstring it begins to loosen and eventually sinks back down. Semi-disappointed but I still like these. The fitting issue can be fixed with tailoring.

To end the afternoon of errands I grabbed some food with the boyfriend from T&T to snack on. I should've known better not to park my car in the parking lot since the spaces are small AND it's full of bad drivers but it was raining and cold. Before we left the car I called my mom so we sat in the car for a few minutes and a car pulls into the stall next to us and opens their driver's side door and knicks my car while doing so. The driver had the audacity to just walk off when we were sitting in my car too!! :@:@ We got right out and stopped the woman from walking away. She honestly had nothing to say and denied that it happened. She claims the clunk we heard on my door was her finger hitting my door and not her car door. Can a finger even make that big of a clunking noise!? I'm just glad there's no damage on my door. I see a knick in the paint but that's nothing to escalate over.

Either way. Not impressed!!

Cozy Comfort

First outfit post in a while! The snow's finally gone.. although I never got my snow day or sledding day, but at least I don't have to wear Hunters every day!

Today I dressed very casually and warmly since it was still very windy. I'm just glad it wasn't raining, gave me a chance to wear my Uggs to complete my "cozy comfort" look. I generally don't wear Uggs anymore unless I'm feeling uber lazy and driving to the grocery store or wherever to grab something, but today was an exception ;)

Wool Sweater || H&M
Top || Talula Babaton
Grey Leggings || J. Crew
Boots || Ugg

I'm in the process of helping my boyfriend clean his room up so we took a trip to Home Depot storage and organization aisle. Sometimes I wish I had an empty room so I could get brand new furnishings, especially for a high-tech closet, but that won't be until I get my own place! We didn't want to buy too much stuff in one go and are planning to slowly organize each area one at a time so we got one thing. A cube shelf. I love these (see here for my cube shelf) as they're a great alternative to the Ikea Expedit shelf if you're on a tighter budget.

I arranged his cube shelf to make a little wardrobe/dressing area. I quite like it and wish I had my own area to do that. I like making makeshift walls out of bookcases and screens so this played out nicely.

This shelf also comes in Expresso (a dark brown) and Alder (a wood color). I was reading reviews for this shelf and despite low ratings (on the Expresso version) this shelf is great. I was kinda surprised people said this was hard to put together and had unclear instructions considering I put my 6 cube together by myself at 3AM when I wasn't exactly the sharpest lol.

Yeah, that mirror is girly lol. We'll get a new one when we take a trip to Ikea but for now it'll do.
Boyfriend being Mr. Organized, strategically putting things together.
From Top to Bottom, Left to Right:
Solid Colored V-Necks
Shirts with Screen Prints/Designs
Sweaters
Belts/Sunglasses
Plaid Shirts
Track Pants
& A Bunch of Jeans

To continue the clean up/reorganization of my room I also bought something
I really like that it doesn't have brackets although Home Depot did have some cute brackets available. I haven't installed them yet (will probably have to get my Dad to do it!) but when I do I think I'll put photo frames on top. I'm excited for these to go up so I don't have to see a bare grey wall any more.

Brrrrr It's Getting Cold

Vancouver finally got its first dump of snow that actually stuck! I was scared I wouldn't be able to make to it school today taking transit but kudos to SFU for actually making the roads ridiculously clear. My bus driver didn't even drive slowly today and just sped the entire way up.

Outfit of the day:
I never took my coat off today since my classroom was really cold but this is what I was wearing. The temperatures in classrooms are never spot on.. it's always too cold or too hot.

Top || Old Navy
Leggings || The Gap
Scarf || ? - purchased off a booth selling scarves at school
Rain Boots || Hunter
Sorry for all the phone pictures. It's so much easier to take them, especially if I need to show my shoes. I have a carpeted house and am against shoes on carpet. I like taking photos in my room better for convenience and outfit sake, phone pictures it is :P

Keeping my feet warm and dry in the snow. Looks like I'll be living in these for the next few days.. I'd wear other boots but they're leather so they'll get ruined.

I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow/Wednesday/Thursday. I want to go sledding in the park near my house! I bought one of these Magic Carpet Sleds from Toys R Us a few years ago and never used it so now would be a good time :)

Outfit of the Day

Quick stop at Metrotown today to buy a book for school. No shopping for the sake of my credit card! I had to resist a sale at PLEN+Y where all fall/winter merchandise was 50% off and more markdowns at Zara..

This is my outfit of the day:

Top || Michael Kors
Blazer || Forever 21
Jeans || Forever 21

Demi By Julep On My Injured Toe

Before I show the polish here's my outfit the of the day:

The weather was surprisingly nice today so I dressed more springy... Although by 4:30 it was super cold and I wished I wore some thicker clothes. I had a jacket on but that was also thin.
Tank || American Eagle
Blouse || Ellen Tracy
Jeggings || American Eagle
Scarf || Everything All We Ever Wanted

I changed my toe nail polish finally! My toe nail polish always seems to last a long time and I blogged the last time I painted them which was back in December. Upon removing the polish I noticed there was discoloration on my big toe. At first I thought it might be stained from having polish on for so long but it actually seems to be a bruise or blood under the nail, I don't know :( I probably got it from wearing crappy heels clubbing a few times this winter break. Ugh. Lesson learned: don't buy heels from Forever 21 even if they're cheap and disposable.

Gross! Sorry this was in the middle of removing polish.

I wanted to cover up the ugly bruise so I used my Julep nail polish which was featured in my last post.

Demi by Julep
One coat - the color is supposed to be a burgundy shade. It reminded me of blood when I was applying it because the polish was really liquidity.

Makeupkismet commented that when she tried Julep it chipped really fast leaving her disappointed. So far my nails haven't chipped but it could be because the polish is on my toes and not finger nails. My nails experience way more abuse than my toe nails. We'll see how long these last!
